About Judgement
“Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
This quote is attributed to Albert Einstein, but there is no substantive evidence that he has really authored it.
It does not really matter who is the author, whomever created this statement, said that to communicate the point that if anyone is judged according to his/her ability to excel on things he/she does not have the skills, such person may be considered stupid.
We should not judge people by the same standards. We are different one from another, and we all have different talents, abilities, skills, preferences, etc. Anyone is likely to achieve success, if attempts those challenges that play to his/her strengths and are within his/her capabilities.
Intelligence is a very broad term. According to Howard Gardner, an American psychologist, intelligence has nine distinct types. Some people are good at logic, some at arts, some at sports, etc. The sort of intelligence one develops broadly depends on his/her environment, efforts and inclinations.
Last but not least...We should find our talents, and try to excel them by our own standards!
