How do you see things?
Is this glass half full or half empty?
This
question has been traditionally asked to conceptualize how people's expectations, judgements, are signs of
optimism or pessimism. However, the main purpose of the question should
be to demonstrate that the same situation may be seen in different ways
depending on one's point of view and the situation he/she is facing.
Both answers can have different meanings:
HALF FULL:
An individual who sees the glass "half full", is generally labeled as
an OPTIMIST person imagining how things could be worse. However, this
person can also be a PESSIMIST who was surprised.
HALF EMPTY:
An individual who sees the glass "half empty", is generally labeled as a
PESSIMIST imagining how things could be better. However this person can
also be an OPTIMIST who has been disappointed based on his
expectations.

In our lives, by looking at things from
different perspectives, we might learn that our point of views regarding
a same situation can be simmilar or can even be the opposite, however,
our point of views should not be labeled as POSITIVE or NEGATIVE... if in reality we are REALIST!
