The Challenge of Making Choices
Our brain is binary, and so it reacts very quickly when presented with two options. However, very often we don’t know which one is better.
Life is full of choices. More options we have and bigger they are, harder they get. For most people it is not easy to choose when presented with several equally good options.
Thinking
in terms of long-term outcomes, and broadening our thinking to
include possible outcomes, can help us find clarity and direction
while facing our decision. We should take some time to consider the outcome we expect, by considering each
option in mind, asking the following questions around OUTCOMES and RISKS of our choices:
- What are the probable outcomes of this choice?
- What are the unlikely outcomes?
- Which risks can I take? How can I reduce or eliminate these risks?
Here there are some inspiring quotes for our meditation:regarding MAKING OPTIONS:
:
:
" Life is the sum of all your choices." - Albert Camus
" Life doesn’t happen to us, it happens from us."- Mike Wickett
" The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live."- Flora Whittemo
Last but not least... when making choices we should follow our instincts because in the end...the choice is ours!
