Social media and online learning resources are essential to onboard the new generation of employees, because it is with these tools that they better communicate, interact and learn.

Powerful tools are becoming available, which make it easier to stimulate and spark interest in learning.These are some of the most used ones:

- Instant messaging, which is the easiest way to ask a question.

- Virtual meetings, which make it possible to bring together geographically disperse groups.

- Forums / blogs, which allow to collaboration, exchange of thoughts and opinions, and networking with those who share the same objectives.

- Smart Phones, which mix communication through voice with other interactive technology.

The real potential of these tools and resources lies in the autonomy they lend to learners, facilitating the way they experience and share the learning process with each other. However, the use of these tools in the organization, rely heavily on the company's culture. Many companies are still late in the use of these tools, and must urgently catch up for better adjusting themselves to their new generation of employees.

I totally agree with you Ronaldo. Lots of organizations -- even here in the U.S., where social media is very disseminated -- are still behind when it comes to putting in place new media and/or using social media venues to attract and retain the next generation of business leaders and future decision-makers.
