Finding Balance in LIFE ⚖️
The concept of doing well, no matter how slow, is not new. There is an inspiring quote attributed to Plato (424/423 BC), philosopher in classical Greece, that says: "Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow."
Carl Honoré, a worldwide recognized Canadian journalist, writer, consultant and motivational speaker, in one of his best-selling books - In Praise of Slow: Finding Balance and Fulfillment Beyond The Cult of Speed, has also challenged the cult of speed, presenting his thoughts around how the Slow Philosophy might be applied in every field of human endeavour. These are a couple of quotes by Carl Honoré, that clearly explain the Slow Philosophy:
⚖️"It is a cultural revolution against the notion that faster is always better. The Slow philosophy is not about doing everything at a snail's pace. It's about seeking to do everything at the right speed. Savoring the hours and minutes rather than just counting them. Doing everything as well as possible, instead of as fast as possible. It’s about quality over quantity in everything from work to food to parenting."
⚖️"The great benefit of slowing down is reclaiming the time and tranquility to make meaningful connections with people, with culture, with work, with nature, with our own bodies and minds."
