With today's greater push for globalization, there is an increasing need for working across different countries. 

It can happen in person or remotely by using technology. Because it is less costly, the way most companies connect their employees from different locations is through long distance communication tools. However, it is not enough... they also need to develop the interpersonal and teamwork skills of their employees.

The use of modern technology certainly helps, however, to guarantee the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication, companies must make sure their employees are aware of cultural differences, so they are able to understand and respect different cultural perspectives.
