Communicating a Powerful Message!

“There is far more opportunity than there is ability. “ – Thomas A. Edison

Your message is the core idea regardless of the audience, situation, and location. Communicating a powerful message is key to getting where you want to go for persuading, influencing people who are listening your speech.

Different authors suggest key ways for delivering an impactful message. These are the most important ones in my opinion:

Develop your theme - The core idea that you want to express as you're talking. Ensure that you stay on point and relevant. "Poor performance results from poor planning."

Practice before starting - Practicing your message is the best way to get yourself feeling comfortable before you face your audience. Make a shortlist with key bullet points to remember. Practice your answers to the most possible questions your audience may ask. Last but not least...be polished!

Simplify your message To draw attention, say it simply and effectively. The less you say, the easier it will be for others to understand. Then, back to the point you were trying to make.

Use clear, understandble language - Speak the "language" of your audience. Not necessarily the same idiom, but the words and examples they can understand. Avoid using jargon and possible ideas that may trigger conflicts. Be sensitive to cultural differences!
