September 7 - Independence Day

The Independence of Brazil, is celebrated today.

The declaration of independence by D. Pedro I, happened in September 7th of 1822 in São Paulo, however it comprised a series of political events occurred in 1821–1824, most of which involved disputes between Brazil and Portugal regarding the call for independence presented by the Brazilian Kingdom.

Brazil is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and the world’s 5th largest country, the largest in South America, occupying almost half of the continent.  The Brazilian population is multi ethnic because of the intermingling among many immigrants ( Portuguese, French, Dutch, Italian, African, Italian, Japanese, Middle Easterner... etc.).
