Learning From Nature - Inspiration Given by ELEPHANTS

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." -African Proverb.

In many cultures, elephants are revered and highly respected due to their symbolic meaning. In these cultures they represent sensitivity, wisdom, stability, loyalty, intelligence, peace, reliability and determination, based on which are all seen in the animal's nature when observed in the wild.

There are some effective habits of elephants that should really inspire us...

They walk slow but go far -They don't go fast but they go far. They cover a lot of ground supporting each other.

- There is a place for both...sometimes we need to pull ahead and move fast, other times we need a great team to support us.

They demonstrate high family bond - Elephants form deep family bonds and live in tight matriarchal family groups of related females called a herd. The herd is led by the oldest and often largest female in the herd, called a matriarch. Herds consist of 8-100 individuals depending on terrain and family size. When a calf is born, it is raised and protected by the whole matriarchal herd.

- We can do a lot by ourselves, however, most times we can do even more when we do together with other people.

They have great memory - Elephants have memories that span many years. It is this memory strength that during dry seasons guide them to watering holes that they remember from the past.

Memory is the process of storing and then remembering informations. Every day, we have different experiences and we learn new things, and our brains decide what is worth remembering.

Their communication skills - Recent discoveries have shown that elephants receive the messages through the sensitive skin on their feet and trunks. They can communicate over long distances by producing a sub-sonic rumble that  travel over the ground faster than sound through air.
