The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded 7.5% in 2010, increasing Brazil's position to the 7th economy in the world, according to figures released this Thursday by Brazil’s statistics agency, IBGE. The figure was led by a 10.1% rise in industrial-sector activity. Agricultural sector growth was 6.5%, followed by 5.4% growth in the service sector.

TRADUÇÃO: O Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) cresceu 7,5% em 2010, elevando a posição do Brasil para a 7a economia mundial, de acordo com os resultados apresentados pelo IBGE nesta quinta feira. O resultado foi liderado pelo crescimento de 10,1% da atividade do setor industrial. O crescimento do setor agrícola foi de 6,5%, seguido pelo crescimento de 5,4% do setor de serviços. O Brasil é uma das mais rápidas economias emergentes no mundo. Com grande e crescentes setores agrícola, mineração, manufatureiro e de serviços, a economia brasileira se posiciona como a mais alta dentre os países da América do Sul e também adquiriu uma posição forte na economia global.
